ASTRATTISMI ANALITICI (2026)
Astrattismi Analitici investigates systems of classification, identity, and order through painting, drawing, rupture, and stitched interventions. The series reflects on the human impulse to organize, categorize, and make sense of an increasingly complex reality, while questioning the stability of the structures we create.
Each work begins with intuitive gestures that gradually evolve into networks of lines, marks, and connections reminiscent of maps, diagrams, or scientific notations. These visual systems are deliberately interrupted through cuts, punctures, and fractures before being repaired with hand-stitched thread. The act of stitching does not conceal the rupture but makes it visible, transforming damage into a record of resilience and adaptation.
Influenced by my background in molecular biology, the series explores the relationship between analytical thinking and intuitive making. Scientific methods of observation and classification intersect with the unpredictability of artistic processes, where accidents, material resistance, and spontaneous decisions become essential parts of the work.
Rather than presenting order as fixed or complete, Astrattismi Analitici proposes that every system is provisional. Identity, knowledge, and human relationships are understood as dynamic structures that continuously fracture, reconnect, and evolve. The visible threads become both physical and symbolic lines of connection, suggesting that vulnerability and repair are not exceptions to a system but fundamental conditions of its existence.
