Artist Statement

My practice investigates how structures are formed, disrupted, and reassembled. Through painting, textile intervention, and spatial construction, I explore states of instability where order and uncertainty coexist.

Working with acrylic, charcoal, oil pastel, wool, cotton thread, textiles, and found materials, I build visual systems that are repeatedly interrupted and renegotiated. Painted gestures, drawn lines, cuts, and stitched interventions become records of tension between control and disruption, intuition and analysis, fragility and resilience. Thread functions not as decoration but as an active element that binds, redirects, obstructs, and reconstructs the image.

My background in biology informs my interest in systems, transformation, and interconnectedness. These ideas shape my approach to material, process, and the dynamic relationships that develop within a work.

Projects such as Utopie Reattive, Astrattismi Analitici and Equilibri Sbilanciati examine these questions through painting, drawing, rupture, and repair. In these works, the canvas becomes a site of negotiation where systems of order are challenged through interruption, fragmentation, and reconstruction.

Alongside these painting-based investigations, works such as Synthetic Garden, Distazioni di Massa and Nuvole Affannate explore the same concerns through material and spatial experimentation. Textile elements extend beyond the painted surface, introducing tension, weight, gravity, and physical interaction. Positioned between painting, object, and installation, these works allow material behaviour itself to participate in the construction of meaning.

Plastic Planet, developed during my residency at GlogauAIR in Berlin in 2025, expanded this research into hybrid environments combining painting, textiles, reclaimed materials, and site-responsive interventions. Across these projects, I approach the artwork as a dynamic system rather than a fixed image. Whether on canvas or in space, the work remains suspended between construction and disruption, seeking forms that acknowledge uncertainty, adaptation, and continuous transformation.
