BIOGRAPHY

Barbara D'Angelo Månsson is an Italian–Swedish artist based in Sweden. Working across painting, textile intervention, and mixed media, she creates works that explore instability, transformation, and reconstruction through gesture, material tension, and spatial relationships.

Using acrylic, charcoal, oil pastel, wool, cotton thread, textiles, and found materials, she develops a practice that moves between painting, object, and installation. Her background in biology informs an interest in systems, transformation, and interconnectedness, shaping an approach that is both material- and process-driven.

D'Angelo Månsson has exhibited in Sweden, Germany, Italy, Denmark, France, Portugal and USA. In 2025 she completed a residency at GlogauAIR in Berlin, Germany, and in 2027 she will participate in the Chiasso Perduto residency programme in Florence, Italy.

Her work has received several international recognitions, including First Prize at the International Art Project of the Fondazione Castello di Sartirana (Italy, 2025), the Arts Club Chianciano Award (Italy, 2024), and the Art IDEAL Cover Contest (France, 2024).
